Here it is another Sunday to run with friends- in and on the Jungle Run. After following mis-directions, to the A site for 30 minutes Mrs. Head decided that I should call someone for the correct directions to the A site. Who knows better than the “Brew Master”? When a female voice answers his phone – I realize we're in trouble again! The Brew Master has left his phone at home! Next call to Dizzy finds him on Hwy 36 passing “the new black top road” toward Siam Golf Course! Finally arriving at the large “shopping mall sized A site” with a zillion cars and “No” shade – Mrs. Head is happy.
Waiting in the hot barren, uncultivated, treeless area for the bus to arrive acclimates us for today's run. A full bus arrives and G.I. Joe and Squeeze My Tube quickly complete signups. GM Hobbit welcomes everyone and handles the normal pre-run formalities. Today's hares “the Me Me twins” (Miserable and Me Me) explain today's run and point to the direction to the start of the paper. On On is called and all runners scatter in ten different directions: SCBs to the left, FRBs directly ahead and the Thai food hunters toward the vegetables and greenery!
Many FTs are encountered- with some solved quickly and others taking considerable time! Wind blown (or was it rapidly/recklessly thrown) paper was deemed the cause! Many individuals found themselves “boxed in” in a large tapioca plantation! Obviously, the hares found themselves in this same position while laying the run! Most hashers found this run “very good” as most hashers would. Only Kee Mah, who arrived 45 minutes later than everyone else- didn't find it fun or amusing!
The normal, after run- refreshment and food fest- was enjoyed by all. The circle was conducted in its normal manner- by the GM Hobbit with most runners getting a chance to sample the ice or bucket! Another great “Jungle Run” was enjoyed by all. Thanks again to the hares: M & M, the Brew Master, Lord Lucan and the French Chef V.V. for their hard work in making this all happen!
