Day 2 "All The 10's Weekend"

On Saturday, October 9th. VV explained to me he was the hare for “one of the next jungle run”, and if I wanted, I could be the co-hare. I said “yes of course”. I realized only on Sunday, October 10th., the “one of the next run”, was actually the next run and as required in the “jungle rules”, I should have to be the scribe for the previous run. For everybody, it was obvious, I had to do it as the hare VV is still unable to write is own name…

A lot of hashers for this special joint Hash week-end run (65) with Wanking and the “Mystery hare” as hares. This mystery didn’t last too when GM Bam Bam called them to give details about the run. Tampax (mystery now over) explained the usual checks, back checks, FT…..all red, and added this run was not a “A to A” , but a “B to A”  run and all runners should have to take back the bus heading to this new location. Everyone tried to find a place in the bus. After less than 100 meters, hashers were required to leave the bus to allow Johnny Tralala to overpass a muddy area of the dirt road. 3 minutes later we all were back in the bus which drove us ………...300 meters to the B site. Yes, we took the bus for 400 meters.

Tampax indicated the direction, and all the pack rushed on the dirt track. After a few hundred metres first check, first FT, and we were on again. Dirt tracks, old sand quarries, tapioca fields, but no river to cross. I tried to avoid muddy area without success, then with my shoes filled up with sand and mud I couldn’t follow the FRB.  Nevertheless, I could follow the track easily as all the checks were already all cleared, and I could hear regularly “ON ON” .
Suddenly, a shout behind me, Crack my Coccyx had tried the well known “dive without water” and was lying in the tapioca. No real matter, specially when a few hundred metres further all FRB were gone to a long FT (or a Back-check ???) and I could see them again. As the shortest distance between two points is the straight line, I decided to short-cut a little bit, and was for a short while ahead the FRB.  Eddy was the first one to overpass me, followed by Vaseline Thighs, Jellobutt and Seal Sucker.

We were almost back to B site when Hobbit caught up with me and started grousing as I used my GPS.(- Next time we’re lost in the forest, like for Ball Ringer’s previous run,  I’ll let him sleep in it –)

After one hour run we reached A site were “San Miguel” girls were waiting for us. Of course, I will not tell a word about what happened with them. I let the readers imagine by themselves. I will not say a word either about VV’s cooking, as when the “Frogs” reached the table, the left-over rice grains were as many as hairs on Jellobutt’s head.

It was again an excellent Sunday spent with hash friends, thanks to the hares, and I would like to remind everyone next run (on 17th.) will be better
